Have you ever participated in a distance walking, swimming, running, or biking event? Tell your story.

I’ve done a number of 5Ks in the past and have my first 10K coming up in about two weeks, but that’s the longest trek to date. I hope to train for a half marathon in the future, but this all depends on how my knees handle the extra mileage. After two ACL surgeries, I finally learned to listen to what my body needs!!
Name one thing not many people know about you.
I wanted to be a zoologist all throughout high school, and started my college career as a zoology major. It wasn’t until about 5 dissections in that I decided I just couldn’t hack it…see what I did there?
What is your favorite flower?
Things I want to have in my home (paintings, hot tubs, book cases, big screen tv etc)
a fenced in yard for Basel boy
- moving paintings
- tv/movie room decorated entirely with floor pillows
- archery target practice in the backyard
- enough storage for my coffee mugs, because I don’t see my collection getting any smaller….
Optional Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I’ll answer from the weekend, because I did the last #SYW so late, I only bought myself a few days to be newly grateful :P. I am thankful for a weekend full of activities with great people – celebrating a belated birthday get together with sushi in the city and fancy cocktails at various venues, learning how to dirt bike like a boss and only hitting ONE tree in an open field, and socializing Basel with some new puppy friends! For the week coming up, I’ll stick with my original answer, A WEEKDAY OFF!!!!

I had the same answer to the flower question! Tulips rock. I like your idea of a TV room with floor pillows everywhere. I could go for that. Smart thinking.

I thought later though, why limit myself to one room?! A house of floor pillows it is!! Thanks for checking mine out 🙂

I used to run track and XC and now am dealing with a torn ACL. I have full range of motion, but still a slight limp and can’t run, jump, or anything yet. Hope you get to do a 10k soon! Keep running 🙂

If I learned anything from mine, it’s that patience is your friend! You’ll get back to where you were and then some, but only if you stay patient with your PT… And continue to work hard (which sounds like you got covered) 😀 My 10k is in a week, I’ll be sure to post a follow-up “brag” about it too! Good luck with your recovery 🙂

Yeah it seems that way. Just stay patient and keep doing exercises constantly. And awesome, look forward to reading your 10k post!
