When you’re alone at home, do you wear shoes, socks, slippers, or go barefoot?
I usually don my moccasin slippers if my feet are the least bit cold, but other than that, I prefer au natural!
What was your favorite food when you were a child?
I remember loving my mom’s tuna noodle casserole as a kid. An odd choice, considering one of approximately four of its ingredients is mushrooms, a fungus I abhor to this day. Granted, they’re merely mushroom morsels spread widely throughout Campbell’s cream of mushroom soup, but I was (am) unwavering in my stance, so they would not do. I would banish precisely every sliver to the outer edges of my plate, and then promptly inhale the rest of the dish….
Are you a listener or talker?
It depends on who I am having a conversation with. In general, I am more of a listener because I don’t like the pressure of the spotlight. But if I’m with people I am comfortable with, in a more intimate setting, or stumble upon a very enticing topic or tangent, I may not be able to stop my jabbering (and neither will you)!
Favorite thing to (pick one): Photograph? Write? Or Cook?
Definitely write. I like taking pictures in nature, but I don’t think it can even pass as amateur photography when you heavily rely on #hashtags and filters. I love sharing poetry, and keep a hand-written journal, but that’s mainly to keep secrets from my computer…
Optional Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Over the weekend, I got back to nature by visiting a friend’s cabin nearby. I was grateful for the company, a perfectly sunny afternoon, the chance to tire out Basel with the help of five neighbor pups, and a brisk evening that made sitting by the bonfire that much more enjoyable. Consequently, I’m also thankful Basel sits relatively still for baths. He needed a thorough scrub down after his adventures!

I am the exact same way with mushrooms! My parents always made (and still make) a similar dish to the tuna noodle casserole you describe except with chicken and lots of cheese…and of course, the cream of mushroom soup. NOPE. I still pick out every single sliver.
